About Entertainment Newcastle
Entertainment Newcastle is a project being driven by musician Kirsty Larkin after visiting her home town Cairns, a provincial city in Far North Queensland, for holidays and also to get some gigs as well.
Kirsty made contact with Ray Elias, a family friend who is involved in “revitalizing the live music industry” in the Cairns Region. The website www.entertainmentcairns.com – was a key project started in June 2008 and now boasts a significant following and great achievements for the live performance industry. Kirsty was inspired and wants to develop a similar website for the Newcastle region.
Entertainment Newcastle has these goals:
- Promote entertainment in the Newcastle region.
- Build interest of audiences and encourage people to attend all forms of live performance in our region.
- Create easy access to accurate, quality information provided by the artists, venues and promoters.
- Provide a website with cross links and developed search capabilities and the ability to print a summary of the gig guide.
- Increase opportunities for artists and venues to promote themselves and help sustain their businesses and our live performance industry.
- Measure how Entertainment Newcastle has impacted on their business.
